This scarf pattern was designed by Denise Cozzitorto and was originally published in Stitch ‘N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller. (The pattern can also be downloaded as a pdf from Patons Yarns if you register as a member. Warning: their site can be scary slow.)
Anyway, on to the pretty:
The yarn is taupe Lion’s Cotton-Ease, which is 50% cotton/50% acrylic. I know, I know… but the acrylic makes the cotton softer and drapier and very nice to work with. I learned how to crochet with this yarn and I like it very much, though I wish it came in more colors.

NO site yet. Love this blog! The photos of the crochet scarf are really good, because I can almost FEEL the softness and particular drape of the yarn. I have such cool sisters! You both inspire to do a blog some day.

Oh, I saw this in Liza’s site. It’s amazing. I love that color…actually, I adore the whole thing, period. Ever think of etsy???
You certainly have a gift!
And I had no idea that acrylic would make it softer and drapier! Clearly, I’m a yarn snob, I’ve always thought of acrylic as a scratchy thing… evidently, I wasn’t educated. Because that looks amazing and not in the least bit what I think of as acrylic. Anyhow, thanks for the lesson…

Thanks so much Wende for your kind words!
I know that many acrylics are squeaky and scratchy and…well, just nasty, but there are also some that are lovely and soft. And cotton can sometimes be a little stiff, but the acrylic in this really seems to loosen it up to just the right texture.
Anyway, thanks again.
