This past month or so has been utterly ridiculous and things don’t seem to be letting up.

June! I hope June will be the month when I can finally get my head back on straight and return to the routines that make me happier and healthier.

For now, though, here’s some recent pics I pulled off my iPhone.

Week 10

Wow…could it be more boring? Okay, to make up for it, here’s a pic of a raven that I took from my iPhone. He (or she) is one of a pair that was sitting on top of a building cronking happily to some other raven at a distance who was cronking back. The sun was just coming up on my sister‘s birthday and I couldn’t help but want to share it with her.

week 6

A craptastic week capped off by a fantastic weekend.

Saw Coraline in 3D on Saturday evening. Loved it so much (seconded only by how much I loved the audience in the theater: quiet like mice except for the occasional ooooh and they clapped at the end)!

On Sunday, we took the train into the city,  primarily to go to the Cartoon Art Museum to see the Totoro Forest Project exhibit on its last day and the Art of Coraline.  Both shows exceeded our expectations and we’re very happy we went.

The Totoro art was gorgeous, thought-provoking and spanned the spectrum between creepy and cute.

In the Coraline exhibit, it was fascinating to see the evolution of the characters and the various artist’s visions of them. The costumes and puppets were awe-inspiring.  It put what we had seen the night before into context and made us truly appreciate the scale of the work that had gone into the film.

Week 5

This one didn’t scan so well. Hmph.

In magazine news, I can’t believe Mary Engelbreit’s Home Companion is over and done.  I’m so sad.
